What's the Buzzz?

My friend Karen has the EXACT same due date as I do and we've been preggy friends ever since we found out. We go to pregnancy yoga together and talk, mail and msn about e-ve-ry-thing baby. It's great to have someone around where you don't have to pace yourself in your excitement.

Karen told me that she and her boyfriend would love to have a bee suit for their baby. I'm sure there's a good reason, but I forgot. It might be just because it's so darn cute.
When she talked about the bee suit for the second time, I knew what to do.

I took a very angelic pattern from Marie Clare's baby book and transformed it into this buzzzing piece with hat to match.

I wanted to give it to her when the baby is born, but since our date is the same I can see all kinds of difficulties to be able to do that, so I decided to give it to her now. It's also really small so their sprout will probably only be able to wear it twice or so. I don't care, the look on Karen's face when she opened the package was all I needed...

Making stuff...

Hi there! I'm still here busy making stuff. Like a baby... and a lot of knitwear. I have been knitting, I have. I just never got round to posting about it. I chose to channel my energy into knitting rather than to write about it. Crazy though, with all this spare time on my hands now that I'm on maternity leave, you'd think I'd manage to do both... Well, I have no excuse, it just didn't happen. So I'm making up for it with a bunch of FO pictures.
I'm in the 39th week of my pregnancy, so it won't be long now. I can't believe how fast these last months have gone by. It's really hard to imagine that this kicking sprout inside me is going to turn into a real baby soon. I CAN'T WAIT!!
The blue and the multicolored cardi are from Marie Claire's baby knitwear book (dutch title: Babybreiwerk 50 modellen voor babykleertjes). The orange mini bolero is from One Skein and so is the little hat. If you want more info about the materials or other stuff, don't hesitate to mail me. It's just so boring to write about that stuff and I mostly used bits and pieces of yarn from my stash (of which I'm very proud... baby clothes make for great stash cleaning).

Next time I'll show you a buzzzing outfit I made for my friend Karen and a baby blanket I whipped up in one day (OK, they were 15mm needles, but still..)

So, now I'm back to my W.I.P, this little number from Garnstudio.com, great site for free patterns! Meanwhile I'll just wait for the baby to come (please baby, come, come!!) and knit merrily on!
