X-mas Knitting & a Ruined Ego

I thought I was pretty clever, designing and whipping up this shrug a day before Christmas, to match my new sleeveless dress...

And then my MIL went and showed me this....
She's making a dollhouse and everything in it herself... There's some mean knitting, lacework and embroidery going on there...!

Have you ever seen hand knit mittens this small??

And this is how she does it:

And along with all sorts of other presents she also got me this:
sock yarn!! great colors, perfect to wear with jeans. I love having a MIL that knits! Even though she's ruining my knitting ego with all her teenytinyknitwear...

Thanks Tijm!
MIL is Mother in Law and then there's ofcourse also your FIL, SIL and BIL. LYS = Local Yarn Store, UFO= Unfinished Project. WIP= Work In Progress and ehm... that's all I can think off for now.

Wow, a 1 day shrug! You're great, and its a good design, i never saw a 2coloured2patterned Shrug. And you look great on the pic!
Your MIL must be a very (VERY) patient woman..

Personally, I think a knitted shrug a real person can wear beats the pants off mini-mittens! It looks great :) I'm planning on knitting the same beret too out of IK Winter... when I get around to it :P Happy new year! Many happy-knitty returns!

thanks tijm for asking what a MIL is! I didn't know it either.
But that inny minny tiny knitting is to frustrating. IT can't be true: what is the fun of that? Anyway don't let it intimidate you: your knitting looks "great" !

I love what you knitted, but why are you looking so sadly? And eeeeeeeeeeeeeek, is that tiny...
